C-Series Steiner

Emily Hart, Grandmaster of Dollmaking Presenting: French Bébé Antique Reproduction doll HEAD ONLY, originally made by the Steiner Firm. This is known as a C-series Steiner and was made in the 1880's under the reign of Monsieur Bourgoin. These were the rarest of the Steiner heads, and distinctive with large eyes and tiny rosebud mouth.

Poured in finest quality “Lady White” porcelain and with many layers of China paint meticulously applied and firings in between each layer

The skin tone is beautifully pale and with eye shadow

She wears fabulous earrings of genuine Aventurine stone beads. Antique Steiner dolls were very often made with turquoise colored bead earrings.

This head features very fine French Paperweight hand blown solid glass eyes in “Olive” color by Hand Glass Craft of England, the finest eyes available.

She features a fine New Zealand mohair wig in rich brown color, with center part, bangs and soft curls.

Extra Fine Painting completed in 2018

This head fits any 16.5 to inch French child body to be a finished 21 inch doll. If you prefer she could go on a 15 inch doll body.

Be sure to ask for Jumeau lower arms, or turned wrist lower arms as they are the closest to the original style of arms the Steiner dolls had.
